Rajiv Malu

I’m a cinematographer based in Mumbai, India. My work revolves around capturing stories that celebrate culture, people, and the places I encounter along the way. I began my journey as a documentary and travel photographer before graduating with a specialization in Cinematography from Whistling Woods International, Mumbai. Since 2019, I’ve worked on over 10 long-form projects as an associate, contributing to shows like Scoop, Modern Love: Baai, Mrs., Srikanth, and the upcoming Gandhi. Alongside these, I’ve independently shot a range of advertisements, documentaries, short films, and music videos. Most recently, I wrapped up shooting a Gujarati feature film, which is set to release in theaters later this year. My work has been featured by Apple, National Geographic Your Shot, National Geographic Traveller India, India Today Magazine, and Chiiz Magazine. I was honored to be a finalist for the HIPA (Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award) 2017-18 and the Siena International Photo Awards 2017. My photographs have also been exhibited by Wagon Art, VIBGYOR, LxS Org, Saatchi Gallery (London), Zostel Group of Hotels, and UP PhotoExpo. Currently, I work full-time as a Director of Photography (DP), collaborating with directors like Pan Nalin, Pranav Bhasin, Ria Singh, Abhishek Jain, and many others. My portfolio spans long-form shows, ads, music videos, and documentary films.
